Well, it turns out that two of the places where I posted most of my old stories no longer exist, so I've only been able to retrieve 8 of my old stories, in a format of which I'm still trying to figure out if there's a way to embed it in my Blogger posts or not. If not, I'll just have to figure out a way to manually extract the text from them and post that directly as blogposts (and probably how to format that text so it looks at least half-decent).
In other but still related news, this whole SevTor revival undertaking has put me on a path of asking myself whether I want to write and self-publish my own original, non-fanfic stories. If the answer turns out to be "yes", then considering my current crappy financial situation I might want to do so with some form of monetization, but at the same time I don't want to try and milk my works for money - on principle, but also because honestly, I don't view myself as someone on the same level as an actually deserving writer. Still, the truth is that I am in dire need, so I'd need to figure out a fair and honest way of putting in some monetization. Even €5 per day or €10 every three days would go a long way in me having enough to eat - and even those ammounts are still well above what I believe my writing should earn, but as pointed out, I do find myself going through some very desperate times.
But let's go back to SevTor and the SevTorian times - I expect those eight old stories to be possted one way or another, within a week. Probably even within two days. And, at least to me, those stories being posted will mark the true beginning of the SevTor/SevTorian Times revival.
Update, maybe an hour after I posted the above (maybe more than an hour?).
The bad news: the external drive on which I had downloaded the recovered old stories (and that was used to store a whole bunch of important files) picked today, maybe half an hour ago, to crap itself violently and die.
The good news: This drive crapping itself and dying forced me to have to re-download the stories; I could no longer find the service that I used to download them with, but I DID find out that these days it is possible from my story management panel on the site where I originally posted the stories, to directly download them as plain HTML, which can be put directly into a Blogger post. Now I just need to clean up the text formatting and then I can post them here.
The other good news: While going back to the site where those old stories were I originally published those stories, I started reminiscing about some of my favorite other fanficcers from back in the day, and looking up some of their old stories that I loved. And it turned out that one is still quite active on that site, though she did move on into writing fanfics for other, more current shows. Still, I sent her a little message asking if she could maybe once more help me with some inspiration for a Torres/Seven fanfic (something she has done a few times in the past, basically us brainstorming and bouncing ideas off eachother) and to my surprise she almost instantly replied that she looked forward to doing so, just not right now because she's going through some stuff that has her too busy for at least a couple of weeks more. So, new Torres/Seven stories are already in the pipeline, and that's besides some ideas that I was already getting started on before contacting her.
The "related" news: Yeah, I will also be working on original non-fanfic stories, for which there will be a separate blog or other format site. And yeah, the hard and harsh truth is that I absolutely do need to monetize that venue. And I'm still considering my options. Ads will be too slow-going (but might still be included on the side to supplement any potential income) and affiliate marketing has already been ruled out completely because it just feels too scummy. I'm a bit torn between flat-out selling all of the works there, or keepinng most free and only selling some while asking a slightly higher price for them. I'm also still looking into other monetization options. As for SevTor/SevTorian Times, I don't want to throw in monetization, but I might be forced to throw in some ads at some point in the near future if my situation doesn't improve soon.
